Academic
Integrity Policy:
Academic
dishonesty is a serious offense and may result in a
failing grade on an assignment, or failure and/or
dismissal from courses. Students are expected to
conduct themselves in an ethical and professional
manner. Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.
Riverside Virtual School will impose consequences
for any student choosing to engage in such
behaviors. The following are examples of academic
dishonesty:
-
Plagiarism: using another person's words, idea,
or results without giving proper credit to that
person, giving the impression that the work is
the student's own
-
Any
form of cheating on exams and quizzes
-
Falsifying or inventing information for any
assignment
-
Partly
or wholly completing an assignment for another
student or submitting assignments partially or
wholly completed by another student.
If your
instructor feels you have violated the Academic
Integrity Policy, they will notify the Riverside
Virtual School administration
immediately and provide you with an opportunity to
respond. Students caught cheating on quizzes and exams will receive an automatic zero. For written
assignments, students may have the opportunity to
resubmit work in their own words. Assignments that
are not resubmitted wholly as their own work and with
proper citations, will receive a score of zero. Future offenses could result in
a failing grade in the course or complete removal
from the RVS program.
Fall
Enrollment Opportunity:
If
you are a student that is interested in
receiving more information about attending the
virtual school full-time in the fall, please
complete this
form
and/or call our office for details.
Parent Observer Accounts:
Any parent or guardian of a
student in RVS courses can be provided with
access to observe their student’s account in the
Blackboard system. This allows you to login to
the system to monitor your child's classes,
assignments, grades, view the class calendar,
review lessons with your child, and to find
information on how to communicate with the
teacher. Prior to issuing observer accounts, we
must verify parent information and rights to
access student data against permissions granted
at the home high school.
To receive an observer account,
simply complete
the form and fax it to 951-778-5684 or bring
the form into the school office. We are located
at the Grant Education Center, which is
across the street from Riverside Community
Hospital at:
4011 Fourteenth Street in Riverside.
