Full-timers
The Riverside Virtual School is currently enrolling
fulltime students for fall of 2010 and will include students in grades
6 - 12 who are on
a college going pathway. Although RVS is a public
school, the program remains a viable option for home
schooling families that desire to increase the level
of rigor of the curriculum available to their
students, while maintaining control of the physical
learning environment.
RVS
students benefit from the flexibility that
online learning provides including, opportunities
for course acceleration, unique enrichment programs,
online mentors, and access to learning 24 hours per
day, seven days per week. All RVS courses meet the
entrance requirements for the University of
California and each AP courses has received approval
from College Board. Many courses incorporate face-to-face
learning sessions, including wet labs in all science
courses.

self-monitoring; common characteristics of
independent learners. Online classes also require a
great deal of reading and interacting with others
through the use of discussion boards and instant
